Storm clouds over ABQ, NM

While I enjoy shooting the expanse of landscapes I am also fascinated by clouds. I see many interesting cloud formations ranging from high thin clouds to deep overcast clouds, sunsets with lots of color to sunsets with little color. This project is composed of storm clouds building in the sky near Albuquerque, NM.

This first picture is of some large billowing storm clouds as they are forming over the Sandia Mountains just east of Albuquerque. This storm eventually dumped a lot of rain in the area.

This next picture is also of some large, billowing storm clouds forming over the Sandia Mountains just east of Albuquerque, The difference is this picture was shot in late afternoon light.

This next picture is storm clouds forming over the city instead of over the mountains and this storm dumped a lot of rain in the city.

This next picture is of storm clouds forming on the east side of the mountains and which dumped a lot of rain in that area.

These next 3 pictures are also of storm clouds forming over the Sandia Mountains in late afternoon light.

This last picture is of a massive storm which formed east the mountains and which dumped a lot of rain in that area.
